Israeli Soldiers Stole a Palestinian Ambulance, Used it to enter Cities and Kill Palestinians
March 8, 2002
Israeli soldiers in the
Gaza Strip on Friday took over a Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance and used
it to kill more Palestinians. According to
eyewitnesses, five Israeli soldiers took over the ambulance, after they forced its
team of paramedics to disembark at gunpoint, and then drove off into the
village of Abasan Khan Younis, where they killed a number of unsuspecting Palestinians.
The Palestinian
daily Al-Ayyam reported on Friday that scores of civilians were killed and injured in the operation.
The Israeli army began as of last week to target
Palestinian ambulances and rescue teams in an effort to get as many wounded Palestinians as
possible to die of their wounds.
At least four Palestinian paramedics were killed and many
injured by Israeli bullets during the past few days.
In addition, two ambulance vehicles in Tulkarm were crushed
by Israeli tanks which overran the several refugee camps in the West Bank.
